IMD warning: heavy rain likely across Tumakuru district over 48 hours

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy-rain warning for Tumakuru district for the next 48 hours, with thunder likely from Tuesday evening through Wednesday night.

The district administration has sent engineering teams to inspect tank bunds. Water levels on the Nagaavi and Jayamangali catchments will be updated every three hours.

The agriculture department asked farmers to open field drains around standing ragi and coconut. The City Corporation advised residents not to park in known low-lying streets.
