Rupee ends nearly flat amid dollar pressure and possible RBI intervention
The rupee closed at 96.2925 per dollar on October 5; traders pointed to possible RBI intervention.

October 5: The Indian rupee ended almost unchanged at 96.2925 per dollar, compared with 96.3150 in the previous session, Reuters reported.
A stronger dollar and elevated oil prices kept pressure on the currency. Traders attributed its resilience partly to possible Reserve Bank of India intervention. That assessment was not presented as an official RBI confirmation. The quoted exchange rate is the October 5 closing figure.
